Aromatherapy is far more than producing pleasant scents. This ancient science reveals the deep connection between plant compounds and human physiology. That is why scents exert such powerful effects on emotion and memory through the limbic system.
At Klinik Flora we examine every plant from both scientific and traditional perspectives. Our aim is to provide a clear guide so you can use the right plant at the right time, safely and mindfully.
"Nature is a pharmacy; it is enough to know which medicine stands on which shelf."
We present plants gathered from every corner of the world not as a catalogue but as narrative. In every line you can read the origin, the ritual, and the usage notes to understand each plant's character.
Each oil here is presented not as a box of data but as a distillation story. You can follow its origin, its effect, and its relationship with other oils in the same continuous flow.
Essential oils are extremely concentrated. Knowing the correct method and dose both enhances their effect and prevents potential risks.
Add 3–8 drops to an ultrasonic or steam diffuser. Run for 30–60 minutes, then pause for air circulation. Avoid continuous use in an enclosed space.
Never apply pure essential oils directly to the skin. Dilute to 1–3 % in a carrier oil. 1 % (2–3 drops per 10 ml) is ideal for the face; 2–3 % for the body.
Before filling the bath, blend 5–10 drops with a teaspoon of honey or milk. These emulsifiers help the oil disperse in water and prevent skin irritation.
Add 2–3 drops to a bowl of hot water, cover with a towel, and inhale the steam in deep breaths for 5–10 minutes. Ideal for respiratory issues. Keep your eyes closed.
Add 12–18 drops of essential oil to 30 ml of almond, jojoba, or coconut oil (2–3 %). Use in an evening massage for muscle pain, sleep issues, or stress relief.
Add 20–30 drops of essential oil to 100 ml of distilled water. Shake well before each use. Ideal for purifying room air, as a bedroom ritual, or a fabric spray.
In this section blends are presented not merely as recipes but as usage scenarios. Mood, season, and formula converge in the same line.
Choose the method below that best suits your purpose and environment. Each method has a different absorption rate and duration of effect.
Use a total of 5–8 drops based on your diffuser's capacity. 5 drops are enough for small rooms; 8–10 for larger spaces.
Add bottled distilled or filtered water to the diffuser reservoir. Calcareous tap water can damage the device.
Add each oil to the water surface in order as per the recipe. Do not use a spoon to mix the oils — the diffuser handles that itself.
Run the diffuser for 30–45 minutes, then pause for 15 minutes. Continuous use can cause olfactory fatigue and excessive exposure.
For 30 ml, prefer almond, jojoba, rose hip, or coconut oil. Jojoba is ideal for oily skin; avocado oil for dry skin.
Add the recipe quantity to 30 ml of carrier oil. This generally corresponds to 2 % concentration (about 12–15 drops total). Mix in a glass bottle.
Massage toward the heart (upward strokes). You may need different volumes for neck, shoulders, the focused area, and back.
Rest for at least 30 minutes after application. Avoid intense sunlight after massage; some oils can cause photosensitivity.
Mix 8–12 drops of the blend with a teaspoon of honey, full-fat milk, or sea salt. This step is essential for the oil to disperse in water.
Set the water temperature to 37–38 °C. Water that is too hot both irritates the skin and accelerates the evaporation of essential oils, shortening their effect.
Add the emulsifier-prepared blend to the full bath, not under running water. This minimises evaporation losses.
Close your eyes and breathe deeply. Get out when the water starts to cool. Pat dry gently with a towel; do not rub your skin.
Use an empty aromatherapy inhaler or a cotton swab you can hold near your face. Remove the wick from the plastic tube and place it on a flat surface.
Drop the recipe amount (usually 10–15 drops total) of essential oil onto the wick. Place the wick back in the tube and close the cap.
Open the cap, hold the inhaler beneath one nostril while closing the other, and take 2–3 deep breaths. Repeat on the other side.
Keep the cap closed between uses. It remains active for 3–6 months under good conditions. Do not use more than 3–4 times per day.
